Brothers Grimm. Known and Unknown Stories

Where fairy tales meet cultural memory.
This photographic project by Anna Scheidemann explores the imaginative world of the Brothers Grimm, bringing together both well-known fairy tales and lesser-known stories rooted in German cultural heritage.

Through a series of images, the project revisits these narratives from a contemporary perspective. The photographs evoke the atmosphere of mystery, symbolism and imagination that has shaped these stories for generations.
Rather than illustrating the tales directly, the work reflects on the emotions, archetypes and cultural memory hidden within them.
The project invites viewers to rediscover the world of the Brothers Grimm and to encounter these stories again with new eyes.
